Club Information

Introduction

The Chatham Aeronauts is a not for profit club located in Chatham, Ontario. Membership is open to anyone interested in flying RC Models.
We currently have 1 flying field as outlined in the “Flying Sites” tab.
Annual membership varies from 40 to 60 members.
Fees and membership application forms are outlined in the “membership” tab.

Visitors

Anyone interested in RC models is welcome to visit  our field or attend one of our meetings. The flying field is most active on the weekends. Many pilots post their intention to fly in the “shout box”. Check it out for current information.

Meetings

We meet on the last Tuesday of each month with the exception of December, at 7:00 p.m., at RM Auto Restorations. During June, July and August the meetings are held at  the flying field.
Contact any executive member for more information.

Instruction

We have several qualified instructors for both fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft.
Instruction is available for free to all student pilots.
Instruction is geared to the individual while following the MAAC wings program.
Once a pilot has completed the training program and won their “wings” they are qualified to fly solo at any MAAC chartered club across Canada.

Annual Scale Fly-in

Our club organizes a scale RC model fly-in during the 3rd week of July every year.
This event is held at the Club flying field.
Details of the event are published in the EVENTS page a few weeks before the event.

Community Demonstrations

Periodically throughout the year we participate in static displays and flying demonstrations in support of various community groups.
We have also been active in assisting local teachers in presenting information about the theory of flight to their students.
